Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves working closely with the finance team to support the organization’s financial health and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recording Financial Transactions:
-Accurately record financial transactions such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
-Ensure all transactions are properly documented and classified according to accounting standards.
2. Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
-Provide a snapshot of the organization’s financial performance and position.
3. Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other financial accounts.
-Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or errors identified during the reconciliation process.
4. Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
-Use financial ratios and variance analysis to assess profitability, liquidity, solvency, and efficiency.
5. Preparing Budgets and Forecasts:
-Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for future financial performance.
-Collaborate with department managers to develop realistic financial projections and monitor actual performance against budgeted targets
6. Ensure compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.
-Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
