About Me

Since 1972, Mr. Kotick has brought leadership, creativity and integrity to the nonprofit sector in Greater Los Angeles serving in such capacities as C.E.O. of Family Health Care Centers of Greater Los Angeles, Chief Administrative Officer for Outpatient Clinics – Orthopaedic Hospital, Vice President for Community Programs for the Greater Los Angeles Affiliate of the American Heart Association and Executive Director of the Center for Health Care Rights. Experienced in health care, advocacy and services to diverse populations, Kotick has also been a Delegate to the California Conference on Handicapped Individuals and the California State House Conference on Aging. Kotick has contributed to California State legislation including the “Torres-Felando Long Term Care Reform Act”.

Kotick has contributed to the start up of organizations including the Center for Law and Justice as it’s second employee and the Senior Care Action Network (SCAN). While Assistant Director for SCAN, the organization implemented a brokered system of case management for older adults, qualified to be one of the demonstration sites for the Multi-Purpose Senior Services Project and was selected to be a Social Health Maintenance Organization, the forerunner of the SCAN Health Plan.

In addition to the above Kotick was named Bell Gardens Man of the Year, 2010 for the establishment of the Campaign for a Healthier Bell Gardens, which is a community collaboration focused on teen pregnancy prevention and childhood obesity. Kotick secured funding to expand school based gardening to include elementary through high school programs, farmer’s markets and provide pregnancy prevention education to teens. Kotick also successfully authored a new business plan, including departmental readiness for seniors and people with disabilities in L.A. Care Health Plan, the largest public health plan in the U.S.

Kotick’s community contributions as a volunteer have included among others: Chairperson – Center for Oral Health (formerly California Dental Health Foundation), Board of Directors; Worksite Wellness Los Angeles, Co-Founder and Member Board of Directors; Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County, President and Chair Public Policy Committee; Health Care Consortium of Central Los Angeles; President Violence Prevention Coalition of Los Angeles County, Coalition Chair and Business Task Force Chair; Metropolitan Los Angeles Association Executives, Co-Chair Government Relations Committee; Co-Founder of the Blind, Aged, Disabled and Deaf Action Coalition of Los Angeles County; Co-Founder of the Los Angeles County Health Rights Coalition.

Kotick is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a J.D. from the Gould School of Law and B.A. degree in political science. Kotick, lives in Los Angeles, California and is a native Angeleno.
